Visit www.cao.ac.za and click "Apply Now". You'll need a valid email address and ID number.
Complete Application Form
Fill in personal details, educational background, and select UniZulu as your preferred institution.
Upload Documents
Prepare certified copies of your ID, Grade 11 results, and Grade 12 certificate (if available).
Pay Application Fee
Pay R250 for on-time applications (before 30 Sept 2026) or R470 for late applications.
Submit & Track
Submit your application and use your CAO number to track your status online.

All undergraduate applications for 2027 must go through the Central Applications Office (CAO) at www.cao.ac.za. Postgraduate applications are handled directly by UniZulu.
Application Fee: R250 for on-time applications (before 30 Sept 2026), R470 for late applications.
Undergraduate: National Senior Certificate (NSC) with Bachelor's pass, minimum APS score of 24, specific subject requirements depending on the program.
Postgraduate: Relevant Bachelor's degree with minimum 60% average.
Yes, UniZulu offers on-campus residences at both KwaDlangezwa and Richards Bay campuses. Residence applications open after you receive an academic offer.
Cost: Approximately R18,000 - R35,000 per year depending on room type.
Admission decisions are released on a rolling basis:
- October-November 2026: First round of offers
- December 2026 - January 2027: Main offers
- February 2027: Late offers (if space available)
